LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY - Virginia Wesleyan University's Hanna Hull and Coe College's Kelsey Hora claimed Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III National Pitcher and Player of the Week honors Wednesday.
Coe sophomore outfielder Kelsey Hora was named NFCA DIII National Player of the Week for her performance over the first five games at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Junior left-hander Hull struck out 18 in a two-hit shutout of Fredonia, and also tossed a five-hit shutout against Kean. For the week, the two-time reigning Schutt Sports/NFCA National Player of the Year totaled 31 strikeouts and walked just two, while limiting opposing batters to seven hits and no runs over 14 innings in the circle.
Hora, meanwhile, batted .688 (11-for-16) with 11 runs scored, a double, two triples, two walks, six runs batted in and five stolen bases over five games. The sophomore center fielder from Ainsworth, Iowa, was also flawless in the field.
Hora is a graduate of Highland High School.
