SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA - Just because the high school cross-country season ended with a state title for Marie Hostetler and a team championship for Mid-Prairie, it doesn't mean Hostetler has stopped running and competing.
In fact, she competed the very next day after the state meet.
Hostetler, who has committed to attend Liberty University, ran Sunday Nov. 3 in the NXR Heartland Regional Championships Cross-Country Meet at Yankton Trail Park.
Hostetler placed third in 17 minutes, 27.4 seconds.
The winner was Meghan Ford who ran 17:19.1
Mt. Pleasant's Abby Ryon finished in 19 minutes, 3.2 seconds to place 103rd.
There were 256 runners in the race.
Both Hostetler and Ryon are seniors. Ryon will run for the University of Iowa next season.
