Hostetler’s 20 not enough in loss

WILLIAMSBURG - After opening the season Nov. 24 with a close River Valley Conference win at home over Durant, the Mid-Prairie girls basketball team lost at Williamsburg 60-48 in a nonconference contest Tuesday.
In the Durant win, Cana Rediger supplied a pressure-packed bucket from long range for the Golden Hawks 40-36 victory.
Rediger's basket happened with under a minute remaining in the River Valley Conference game.
Rediger finished with seven points while Myah Luger and Maddie Nonnenmann had 10 apiece. Nonnenmann added 11 rebounds while Lugar had five with seven steals. Esther Hughes had four assists, four rebounds, three steals and eight points.
Against the Raiders Tuesday, a 27-26 deficit at halftime grew to 42-36 by the fourth quarter.
Phelan Hostetler had 20 points and six rebounds for the Golden Hawks. Nonnenmann put up nine points and took down five rebounds. Lugar contributed seven points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. Hughes contributions included 10 rebounds, eight points, two assists and a block.
