Huskies boys shut down Wolves

Highland won a high school boys basketball game against the visitors from Winfield-Mt. Union Tuesday.
Highland 51, Winfield-Mt. Union 18
The Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division game was the fourth win for the Huskies in five games. They are 3-1 in the North.
Mason McFarland led the Huskies to victory with 18 points and six assists. Trey Lasek contributed 13 points, six assists and five steals.
Highland hosts Louisa-Muscatine Thursday.
Danville 66, WACO 62
This SEISC South Division game in Danville was tied at 14 after the first quarter, but the Bears led 30-19 at halftime.
Bryce Carr scored 12 points for Danville. Nik Coble led WACO with 19 points and Gabe Reichenbach scored 15.
It was WACO's second loss of the year. The Warriors are 4-2 and play at Holy Trinity Friday. Danville is 3-3.
Iowa Mennonite School 37, Wapello 28
IMS won the SEISC North Division game in Hillcrest Union at IMS.
IMS was led by Jeremy Niemeyer's 17 points, and Trevor Leyden added eight points, including a pair of trifectas. Caleb Gingerich dished for nine assists and Kobe Borntrager had a team-high six rebounds and Eli Ours had five. Ours and Leyden each pilfered four steals and Gingerich and Borntrager had three apiece.
The win takes IMS to 3-2 on the season and next play at Winfield Friday.
Keota 63, Belle Plaine 35
The Eagles won the South Iowa Cedar League home game. Keota led 15-13 after one quarter, 27-22 at the half and 40-26 after three quarters.
Keota is 5-2 overall, 4-1 in the loop and hosts Lynville-Sully Friday.
