Huskies open up season at UNI
The Highland track and field team got its season under way at the University of Northern Iowa Indoor Invitational on Monday.
Leading the charge for the Huskies was sophomore Kelsey Hora, who took 18th in the 60-meter dash.
Hora finished with a time of 8.41 in the preliminaries, barely missing out on a qualifying time of 8.40.

The Highland track and field team got its season under way at the University of Northern Iowa Indoor Invitational on Monday.
Leading the charge for the Huskies was sophomore Kelsey Hora, who took 18th in the 60-meter dash.
Hora finished with a time of 8.41 in the preliminaries, barely missing out on a qualifying time of 8.40.
Sam Dutton finished with a 30.33 in the 200-meter dash, good for 79th overall out of 162 competitors.
Sydney Black took 46th in the 400-meter dash, with a time of 1:08.04.
In the 800-meter dash, Chelsey Lampe took 37th with a time of 2:41.08.
In the 4 x 400 meter relay, the Highland girls finished with a time of 4:55.77.
In the girls? field events, Dutton tied for 16th in the high jump with a jump of 4 feet - 8 inches.
On the boys? side of the meet held on Tuesday, Ben Bean was the top Highland finisher in the 60-meter dash, running a 7.93.
Bean also led the boys? team in the 60-meter hurdles, running a 9.98 to put him in 54th place.
James McPherson had a 27.20 in the 200-meter dash to lead the Huskies.
Caleb Brase finished in 81st out of 156 participants in the 400-meter dash, running a time of 58.93.
Senior Zach Kleopfer ran a 2:20.19 in the 800-meter dash putting him in 72nd among 142 finishers.
In the distance runs, Keiffer Sexton finished with a team-best 5:01.58 in the 1600-meter run, followed by Evan Mahler?s 5:18.61.
Sexton also led the team in the 3200-meter run, picking up a 10:47.07, while Mahler ran an 11:12.06.
In the relays, Highland?s 4 x 400 meter team ran a 4:09.83.
Highland senior Jake Yeggy had a team-best throw of 41 feet - 4 1/2 inches in the shot put.
The next scheduled meet for Highland will be for the girls, when they travel to Columbus Junction on March 27.
