Huskies place seventh at state

All season long, the Highland boys? cross-country team had a goal of getting to state and improving upon last season?s 11

-place finish in Fort Dodge. The Huskies did just that, finishing seventh in Class 1A at Saturday?s state meet at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course.

The seventh-ranked Huskies totaled 197 points. Senior Matt Eden finished 44

^th

in 17:33 to lead Highland, and freshman Tucker Hall crossed the finish line one second later in 46

^th

place. Freshman Keiffer Sexton came in 59

^th

in 17:48, and senior Zach Popham was 73

^rd

in 18:08. Sophomore Evan Mahler rounded out the scoring with his 86

-place finish in 18:24, and junior Josh Brase finished one second later in 87

place. Senior Luke Mahler came in 102

in 18:50.

IMS senior Cody Miller came in 23

^rd

in the Class 1A race. He crossed the finish line in 17:11.
