Huskies top Louisa- Muscatine in five innings

No. 12 Highland kept on rolling, improving to 8-0 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division with an 11-0 win in five innings over visiting Louisa-Muscatine on Tuesday night.

Sophomore Bridget Murphy went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Huskies (14-2 overall) at the plate. Senior Kassie Vazquez, sophomore Bailey Walsh and freshman Cheyann Adamson each went 2-for-2 with an RBI, and senior Paige Wieland went 2-for-3 and scored three runs. Sophomore Morgan Craig also had a hit and an RBI for Highland, which finished with 11 hits in the game.

Meanwhile, Highland pitcher Katie Springer threw a two-hit shutout. She struck out nine batters and did not issue a walk in five innings.
