Hutchcroft to IATC Hall of Fame
Former Mt. Pleasant head coach to be honored in December

AMES — Former Mt. Pleasant head coach Dave Hutchcroft will be inducted to the Iowa Association of Track Coaches Hall of Fame in early December.
On Dec. 7, at the IATC’s annual banquet, Hutchcroft, along with five other coaches and athletes will be honored for their time in Iowa high school track.
Hutchcroft was the head girls’ track and field coach at Mt. Pleasant from 1994-2015, a 22-year run. He coached the middle school girls from 1984-1993.
Under Hutchcroft, the Panther girls were state champions for three years straight, winning in 2004, 2005 and 2006. The Panthers were the state runner ups in 2007 and 2014.
Hutchcroft also led Mt. Pleasant to a third-place finish in 2003, fourth place finishes in 2002 and 2008, a fifth-place finish in 2013, and a sixth-place finish in 2012.
In his time at Mt. Pleasant, Hutchcroft coached 17 individual state champions and six relay champions. He had 48 individual state placewinners and 40 relay winners.
Hutchcroft qulifieed 106 events to the Drake Relays in his time coaching Mt. Pleasant. He coached the Panthers to 37 Top-8 finishesee, including two event championships.
Hutchcroft was a National Coach of the Year Finalist in 2011 and 2016. He is also a member of the Iowa basketball coaches Hall of Fame, with 482 wins.
