Ide Gymnastics competes at Nationals

It’s been an eventful and successful year for Ide Gymnastics.
The season came to came to an epic conclusion this June in the United States Trampoline and Tumbling (USTA) 2022 “SandSational” Nationals in Lakeland, Florida.
For the gymnastics squad, five athletes competed for national titles across events including trampoline, double mini trampoline and power tumbling.
Jacob Wallace won himself a National Championship in the beginner boys ages seven and eight in trampoline with a top score of 16.50. He placed 13th in double mini trampoline as well.
Finishing second in the intermediate girls age 10 in trampoline was Kaylee Wright. She was a fourth place finisher in double mini trampoline too.
Alyson Lilley tallied a seventh place finish in advanced beginner tumbling girls age 11, along with a pair of eighth place finishes in both trampoline and double mini trampoline at the intermediate level.
Skylar Smith finished 10th in double mini trampoline sub-advanced level and a 16th place in intermediate level age 12 in trampoline.
Kamryn Tharp placed 13th in trampoline beginner girls age eight and 28th in double mini trampoline. Tharp competed in one of the larger groups in the competition, with other 50 competitors in each.
Athletes were divided into age groups and skill levels. Each is placed into “flights” of no more than 10 competitors each. Skill groups can hold up to 60 or more girls and boys.
Scores are then compiled and posted according to the athletes scores in each group.
Each of the top 10 scoring performers received a trophy and earn a spot on the podium.
Jeanne Ide said everyone at Ide Gymnastics is very proud of all the athletes and the hard work they put it.
“We at Ide Gymnastics are very proud of the athletes that represented us at this year's Nationals and look forward to seeing what the new season brings,” she said. “Keep your eyes open for our next installment next month as we attend the AAU Jr Olympics in Greensboro, NC with 20 athletes to win.”
