On March 12 and 13, Ide Gymnastics competed in two separate competitions in Indianola.
While competing under a Luau theme in both meets, the gymnasts saw an abundance of success.
On Saturday, the group attended the AAU Trampoline and Tumbling competition, taking a total of 18 athletes. Out of the 18, 16 picked up first places finishes.
Riley Lathrop was the “talk of the town” with a double “hat trick” sweeping the trampoline events, double mini trampoline and power tumbling.
Teammates Randi Ellis and Reagan Wise each brought home first place finishes on trampoline and double mini trampoline. Alyson Lilley placed first in trampoline and power tumbling. Elisha Vander ended the competition atop the podium with first place finishes in double mini trampoline and power tumbling.
Brooklyn Ledger, Skylar Smith and Dawson Wiggins all placed first in trampoline. Ashlynn Adrian and Kamryn Tharp both secured first place finishes in power tumbling.
Renleigh Forrett, Charley Metcalf and Kiley Metcalf ended with third place finishes in trampoline. Ashley Lyons placed fifth in both trampoline and power tumbling. Avery Ledger was a sixth place finisher in power tumbling and Aurora Rodriquez an eight place finisher in trampoline.
On Sunday, the gymnasts returned to partake in the USTA Trampoline and Tumbling meet.
The group picked up right where they left off. With eight gymnasts competing, the team finished with a total of nine first place finishes.
Along with Lathrop’s “hat trick” finish, Tharp picked up first place finishes in trampoline and double mini trampoline. Adrian, Smith and Wiggins all placed first in trampoline. Lilley grabbed first in double mini trampoline.
Katelyn Brecount placed second in trampoline and Lyons second in power tumbling.
Ide Gymnastics will now turn its sights toward pre-state and state competitions.
