The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released their fourth rankings of the 2019-20 basketball season last week.
The recent rankings saw Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division member Van Buren remain at No. 4 in Class 2A. SEISC North member Mediapolis dropped from No. 12 to 13. In Class 3A, SEISC South Division's West Burlington reentered the rankings after dropping out the previous week. It is at No. 14. Another South team in the rankings is Burlington Notre Dame at No. 13 in Class 1A.
The River Valley Conference has the top-ranked team in Class 3A with Cascade holding in the No. 1 spot. West Branch is No. 7 and West Liberty is 12.
Another top-ranked team in an Union area conference is Class 1A's Montezuma of the South Iowa Cedar League. Fellow conference members receiving recognition are No. 4 North Mahaska and No. 7 Sigourney. Sigourney had been at No. 3 but a home loss to Washington affected its standing.
