IMS baseball team wins over Sigourney
The IMS baseball team won the Class 1A District 8 title Saturday, July 15, after they defeated Sigourney in the district finals by a 10-0 score in five innings in Keota.
IMS put up two runs in the first inning to take an early lead, followed by scoring two more in the second to add to their lead.

The IMS baseball team won the Class 1A District 8 title Saturday, July 15, after they defeated Sigourney in the district finals by a 10-0 score in five innings in Keota.
IMS put up two runs in the first inning to take an early lead, followed by scoring two more in the second to add to their lead.
They had a big five-run third inning, putting the score at 9-0 and scored their last run in the fifth to end the game by mercy rule, 10-0.
Junior Cole Ours scored three runs in the game against the Savages.
Noah Bruns and Trevor Leyden crossed the plate twice for IMS and Drake Brezina, Cole Yoder and Cambridge Hathaway each scored one run.
Pitching for IMS was Blake Bontrager who gave up three hits while walking one and striking out one in the contest.
The IMS baseball team improves to 14-9 and will play against North Linn at Cedar Rapids Prairie Tuesday, July 18, starting at 7 p.m.
The winner will play in the state tournament in Des Moines.
