IMS earns multiple top spots at Danville

The IMS track team went to Danville on Thursday, and came away with  with some strong performances on the day.

On the girls? side of the meet, IMS? Rubye Ney claimed a meet title in the 100-meter hurdles, and was followed by  Rachel Miller, who took second in the event.

Emma Beachy also claimed a meet title, claiming first in the Discus, with a personal best of 82 feet ? 8.25 inches.

The other meet title the IMS girls claimed came in the 4x100-meter relay, as Miller, Suzanna Yoder, Taylor Geyer and Mackenzie Gutierrez each combined for a time of 56.66.

?It was a good meet to start our outdoor season,? IMS track coach Marty Gingerich said. ?There were some pleasant surprises and some areas where we hope to see improvement.?

Calli Shaw earned third place in the 3000-meter run at the meet, while Yoder finished in third in the 100-meter dash and in the 200.

On the boys? side of the meet, Levi Geyer posted a personal best time of 11:36 in the 3200-meter run, taking third in the event.

Drake Brezina also added a pair of third-place finishes, coming in the 400-meter dash and the long jump, to close out the meet.
