Mediapolis pulled away from visiting IMS for a 4-1 victory in Tuesday?s Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division softball game.
Mediapolis scored a run in the first inning, but IMS (4-6, 4-6 SEISC North) answered with a run in the top of the second to tie the game. But the Bullettes took advantage of an IMS error to regain the lead in the third inning, and then added two more runs on a fifth-inning home run.
Senior Laura Hochstetler threw a strong game. She allowed four runs, three of which were earned, and struck out seven batters.
