IMS golf teams fall to Wapello
The IMS girls? and boys? golf teams opened the season with losses to visiting Wapello at the Kalona Golf Club on April 4.
The IMS girls carded a nine-hole score of 271, falling to the Arrows by 10 strokes. Sophomore Breana Stout shot a 65 to lead IMS, and junior Teresa Miller had a 66. Junior Michaela Prihoda carded a 69, and freshman Jess Bender had a 71 to round out the scoring. Junior Ellie Stastny shot a 76, ...

The IMS girls carded a nine-hole score of 271, falling to the Arrows by 10 strokes. Sophomore Breana Stout shot a 65 to lead IMS, and junior Teresa Miller had a 66. Junior Michaela Prihoda carded a 69, and freshman Jess Bender had a 71 to round out the scoring. Junior Ellie Stastny shot a 76, and junior Liza Brenneman had a 79. Junior Elaine Ropp shot a 78 to lead the IMS junior varsity, while juniors Elizabeth Yoder and Laura Brenneman both had an 80.
Senior Kaytlyn Small fired a 57 to lead Wapello, and senior Genna Knutson added a 58.
The IMS boys shot a nine-hole score of 257 and lost to the Indians by 49 strokes. Junior Tanner Leyden fired a 45 to lead IMS and take the meet?s runner-up medalist honors. Senior Thaddeus Yoder shot a 68, and junior Brent Brenneman had a 69. Junior Zach Hill carded a 75 to round out the scoring. Junior Ben Miller and sophomore Jacob Bruns both had a 76.
Senior Gage Carpenter shot a 38 to lead Wapello and take the meet?s medalist honors.
