IMS golf teams show continued improvement
The IMS boys? golf team shot a season-best score of 237 during Monday?s home meet against Mediapolis at the Kalona Golf Club, but the visiting Bulldogs defeated IMS by 53 strokes.

Junior Tanner Leyden carded a 53 to lead IMS, and junior Zach Hill added a 57. Senior Thaddeus Yoder shot a 61, and sophomore Jacob Bruns had a 66 to round out the scoring. Junior Richard Deming carded a 68, and junior Brent Brenneman had a 71. Junior Ben Miller, playing junior varsity, shot a 61.
Mediapolis senior Nick Anderson fired a 41 to take the meet?s medalist honors.
The IMS girls? golf team also fired a season-best score of 250. Junior Michaela Prihoda carded a 60 to lead IMS, and sophomore Breana Stout had a 61. Junior Abbie DeWild shot a 62, and freshman Jess Bender had a 67 to round out the scoring. Junior Liza Brenneman carded a 75, and junior Teresa Miller had a 78. Junior Elizabeth Yoder, playing junior varsity, shot a 72.
Senior Kensley Heater fired a 49 to take the meet?s medalist honors and lead Mediapolis, which did not have enough golfers to total a team score.
