IMS held off Louisa-Muscatine in the final minute to earn a 39-36 road win on Friday night.
The visitors led by seven with just over a minute to play, but the Falcons hit a 3-pointer and a turnaround jumper to trim the lead to two with 16 seconds to play. On the ensuing possession, IMS was able to burn a little clock before senior Hannah Gingerich was fouled with seven seconds remaining. Gingerich hit the first of two free throws to give IMS a three-point lead. A last-second desperation shot by the Falcons was off the mark, and IMS escaped with the win.
Junior Kristin Davis scored 13 points to lead IMS (4-9, 4-8 SEISC North), and she also had three assists. Sophomore Riley Schmieder added eight points and four rebounds, and sophomore Demi Brezina had five points.
