Senior night couldn?t have gone much better for IMS on Tuesday night.
The IMS basketball teams saw the girls pick up their first win of the season, while the boys picked up a win against one of the top teams in the conference.
The boys were led by senior Eli Gingerich on the night, as he put in 21 points, as well as leading the team in points and rebounds, as the IMS boys knocked off Winfield-Mount Union 70-59.
Cole Ours and senior Jacob Schmieder each notched 10 points in the victory, which was helped by a 12-3 run in the third quarter.
Despite dropping three of its last five games, IMS now stands at 11-8 on the season, while Winfield-Mount Union fell to 12-7 on the season.
On the girls? side, the first win of the season came with a lot of help from freshman Suzanna Yoder, who picked up 18 points on the night.
IMS was tied with the Wolves heading into the final frame, and the game ended with a 45-42 victory, with IMS on top for the first time this season.
Yoder also led the team with seven rebounds and three assists, while junior Calli Shaw had eight points and seven rebounds.
