Inaugural Camp Kyle held
The first ever Camp Kyle was held in June at the Southeast Iowa Skeet Club and Jefferson County Park. 16 participants entering fifth through seventh grade shot .22's, tried their hand at archery, canoed, kayaked and learned about the life and legacy of the camp's namesake, Kyle Longerbeam.
Organizers wanted to 'thank all the sponsors and volunteers who made the day possible,” including HyVee, Logli's Store, Iowa State Bank & Trust Company, Libertyville Savings Bank, the FHS Class of 2009, Washington State Bank, Edward Jones, Pilot Grove Savings Bank, Scheels, Wal-Mart, Jefferson County Conservation and the Southeast Iowa Skeet Club.
