State matchups from all seven of Iowa high school football’s classes

The state semifinals are now set across all seven of Iowa’s football classes.
Class 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A, A and 8-Player are each down to a final four.
Beginning in 5A, Top seeded Iowa City Liberty (10-1) will take on Southeast Polk (7-4).
The Lightning haven’t lost since week three and come in off a quarterfinal victory over Ankeny 21-13.
Southeast Polk is the only team across all classes that has more than two losses.
The Rams defeated Pleasant Valley 24-21 and then dominated Iowa City West 42-15 to get to the dome.
On the other side of the bracket it’s No. 2 seeded Dowling Catholic (10-1) taking on No. 3 seed Valley (9-2).
The Maroons only loss on the season came against Ankeny 23-16. Ankeny also handed Valley one of its two losses.
Dowling just edged Ankeny Centennial 14-10 to get into the semifinals, while Valley defeated Johnston 38-35.
In Class 4A, undefeated and top ranked North Polk (11-0) will take on No. 4 North Scott (9-2).
North Polk has had a dominant campaign thus far, defeating Fort Dodge 36-6 and Xavier 35-14 on its way to the semifinals.
No. 2 seeded Pella (10-1) gets No. 3 Lewis Central (10-1) on the other side of the bracket.
Both the Dutch and Titans losses came in the final weeks of the regular season; however, the two final themselves on the big stage.
Pella avenged its regular season loss to Gilbert with a quarterfinal final victory 19-14.
Lewis Central downed ADM 32-25 to get to the UNI Dome.
Class 3A will feature No. 1 Humboldt (10-1) and No. 4 Mount Vernon (10-1).
Humboldt defeated Solon 35-3 to punch a ticket to the semifinals, while Mount Vernon hung on against Algona 31-28.
Humboldt’s lone loss came against North Polk, while Mount Vernon fell by one point to Solon.
The other side of the bracket will feature No. 2 Sergeant Bluff-Luton (11-0) and No. 3 Wahlert Catholic (11-0).
The pair have yet to taste defeat.
Wahlert enters off a 24-7 win over Independence, while Sergeant Bluff-Luton topped Nevada 53-21.
In Class 2A, it will be No. 1 West Lyon (11-0) taking on No. 4 Van Meter (10-1).
West Lyon comes in off a win over Kuemper Catholic 49-14. The Wildcats closest game of the season was a 13 point win.
Van Meter hasn’t lost since week three when they fell to top seeded 3A’s Humboldt 28-21. The Bulldogs defeated Anamosa 31-0 to advance.
On the other side of the slate, No. 2 PCM (11-0) will take on No. 3 Spirit Lake (10-1).
PCM has yet to lose and has given up just 19 points at most across all its games through the season.
The Mustangs closest game was a 23 point win.
Spirit Lake; meanwhile, has not lost since week one when they fell to Algona 42-40.
Grundy Center (11-0) and Wilton (10-1) will square off in Class 1A.
The top seeded Spartans have not lost, with their closest game coming in week one, a 21-7 victory over Dike-New Hartford.
Wilton has played some close game throughout the season, but notches a semifinal appearance after beating Regina Catholic 21-14.
Dike-New Hartford (10-1) and Hinton (10-1) will play on the other side of the bracket.
Dike-New Hartford’s lone loss was the one to the Grundy Center.
From then on, the closest game for the Wolverines was 17 points.
Hinton enters after defeating Underwood 37-15.
In Class A, No. 1 West Hancock (11-0) gets No. 4 Madrid (9-2).
West Hancock survived MMCRU 28-21 in the second round and then defeated Woodbury Central 44-15 in the quarterfinals.
Madrid comes in off a huge win over then top five ranked Lisbon 27-14.
The bottom of the bracket Saint Ansgar (10-1) will take on Tri-Center (10-1).
In 8-Player, top seeded Lenox (11-0) will battle with No. 4 Gladbrook-Reinbeck (10-1).
Lenox defeated Montezuma 62-20 and Gladbrook-Reinbeck downed Don Bosco in double overtime 34-33 to advance.
No. 2 Bishop Garrigan (11-0) will square off with Remsen St. Mary’s (11-0).
In a battle of unbeaten’s, Bishop Garrigan comes in off a 51-36 win over Edgewood-Colesburg and Remsen St. Mary’s topped Audubon 61-20.
