DAVENPORT - Both the Iowa Wesleyan men and women’s cross-country teams traveled to Davenport over the weekend to take part in the Fighting Bee Invite, and both teams came home with the same spot in the standings.
The Tiger men finished sixth out of seven teams in action, scoring 178. The women took sixth out of six with 113 points.
The Tiger men defeated Scott Community College by two points for sixth place. The top runner for the Tiger men was Logan Lucas, who took 27th place overall with a time of 30 minutes, 14 seconds.
Daron Jackson and Kenny Tucker finished 39th and 40th respectively for the Tigers. Gannon McNamee finished 53rd, and Marlon Brown took 54th.
The Tiger women may not have knocked off any teams, but they did get two runners in the Top-20. Last week’s Continental Athletic Conference Runner of the Week Lilly Garnsy finished 19th, crossing the line in 22:23. Faith Younce was right behind her in 20th, crossing in 22:29.
Allison Morris gave the Tigers another Top-25 finish, crossing the line in 25th. Lidia Pamos took 48th. Teya Hawkins finished 53rd.
The Tigers will be back in action this weekend at Grand View University.
