Iowa Wesleyan soccer players honored by USCAA
Iowa Wesleyan College has announced that four Tiger soccer players received postseason honors.
For the women?s team, sophomore Hannah McElroy received United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-American award. McElroy, who is from Glenn Carbon, Ill., led the Tigers with 12 goals on the season, including four games with multiple goals.

Iowa Wesleyan College has announced that four Tiger soccer players received postseason honors.
For the women?s team, sophomore Hannah McElroy received United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-American award. McElroy, who is from Glenn Carbon, Ill., led the Tigers with 12 goals on the season, including four games with multiple goals.
Also for the women?s team, Mt. Pleasant?s Sindy Carillo, a junior at IWC, received All-Academic honors from the USCAA.
On the men?s team, senior Chris Matthews and sophomore Caio Da Costa both received an honorable mention from the USCAA. Matthews, from Toronto, Canada, led the Tigers with 16 goals on the year, along with three assists. Costa, who is from Braganca Paulista, Brazil, had 10 goals on the season and led the Tigers in assists with 11.
All-American honors are awarded by the USCAA based on a system created by the Stats/Power Ratings Committee to determine the best all-around players. All-Academic team honors are awarded to student-athletes who are sophomores, juniors or seniors and earn a 3.5 overall GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
