Iowa Wesleyan softball goes 0-4 at CAC Classic
Tigers struggle in conference clashes

NEVADA, Mo. — It was tough sledding for the Iowa Wesleyan softball team this weekend in a trip to Nevada, Missouri, where the Tigers met up with four Continental Athletic Conference opponents.
The Tigers went 0-4 on the day. They lost to four different CAC opponents, falling 13-2 to Bacone College and 9-1 to Haskell Indian Nations University on Friday, and dropping Saturday’s games 8-0 against Crowley’s Ridge College and 10-2 against Cottey College.
In the opener, Iowa Wesleyan had just three hits against Bacone. Alexis Davis, Adrianna Jarrett and Ivy Geerdes each had singles. Geerdes and Haiden Molter each had RBIs.
Against Haskell, five Tigers got a hit. Davis led the team with a hit, a walk and one run scored.
The Tigers had three hits against Crowley’s Ridge. Kara Kreiger, Emilee Rooney and Jarrett all finished with a knock, but no Tiger ever crossed the plate.
In the final game against Cottey College, Iowa Wesleyan tallied five more hits. Krieger led the team, going 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Davis was 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Morgan Smith was 1-for-2 with a run.
The Tiger softball team fell to 3-20 on the season and 0-6 in conference play with the losses. Iowa Wesleyan hosted Eureka College in a doubleheader Monday night, which takes place after press time. They will be back at home to host Waldorf University in another doubleheader on Wednesday.
