Iowa Wesleyan softball team goes winless over weekend
Tigers drop pair of games on Friday, 2 more on Saturday

NEVADA, Mo. — It was a tough weekend for the Iowa Wesleyan softball team. The Tigers struggled on offense in each one of four games of an 0-4 stretch.
The Tigers lost twice to No. 22 Ottawa University in Kansas on Friday, falling 6-0 and 8-0. On Saturday, Cottey College got the best of Iowa Wesleyan 9-0 and 9-1.
The Tigers collected just three hits in the first game against Ottawa. Ivy Geerdes, Tegan Burbridge and Karoline Stratton all had singles. In Game 2 against Ottawa, the Tigers were no hit.
in the first game on Saturday, Iowa Wesleyan had just four hits, one being the squad’s only extra-base hit with a double by Alexis Davis. In Game 2, the Tigers scored their first run, plating a runner when Adrianna Jarrett singled in Geerdes in the fifth frame.
The Tigers fell to 3-15 overall on the year. The losses to Cottey College were their first Continental Athletic Conference games of the year. They now sit 0-2 in league play.
Iowa Wesleyan will next play at William Penn University in a single game on Wednesday night.
