Iowa Wesleyan sports update: Baseball begins

The Iowa Wesleyan baseball season is underway. The Tigers went 0-4 at Louisiana Christian University in their first action of the year.

The Tigers dropped games 10-2 and 7-1 on Saturday. They fell 9-3 and 11-2 on Sunday.

The basketball teams were also in action this weekend, playing in the Continental Athletic Conference Classic on Friday. The women defeated defeated Cottey College 95-50, while the men fell to Florida College 99-69.

The men’s and women’s track teams were at the Luther Invitational on Saturday. The men took third place out of eight teams, and the women took fifth out of eight.

The women’s wrestling team also competed over the weekend, taking part of the Grand View University Open.

Adaugo Nwachukwu at 136 pounds, was Iowa Wesleyan’s only first place finisher. Mia Palumbo took third place at 109 pounds.
