Iowa Wesleyan swept at Greenville

GREENVILLE, Ill. - It's not easy to play at Greenville University, and that was evident for the Iowa Wesleyan basketball teams on Monday night. The Tiger men had a fierce comeback attempt fall short, 131-125, and the dropped their game 77-49.
The Tiger struggled with Greenville's fast-place playing style early on, going down 67-48 at halftime. They cut the lead down to as little as five points in the last minute and scored 77 points in the 2nd half, but ran out of time.
Jarryd Fernandes had a huge game, going off for 48 points, 19 rebounds nad four blocked shots. Alex Dentlinger had a big game as well, scoring 24. Jett Tjaden had 17. Jacob Neubauer went for 13 points, 16 assists and four steals.
Alberto Torres scored eight points in the loss. Kaleb Cresswell had seven poitns. Austin Banks finished with four points and 10 assists, and Marvin Saintolien scored four points.
The Tiger women trailed 15-9 after the first quarter, 44-22 at halftime and 63-29 after three quarters. IW scored 20 points in the fourth period.
Morgan McCrea led the team with 11 points and three assists. Allie Massner had nine points. Sydney Farrar and Harriet Fowler scored seven each. Maddie Williamson had six points, six rebounds and three steals. Deericka Martin had five, and Da'Jaah Swolley had four.
The Tiger men are now 6-9 overall and 3-5 in SLIAC play. The women are 2-13 overall and 2-6 in the conference. They will both play at Webster University tonight (Wednesday).
