Iowa Wesleyan volleyball flexes muscle in opener

MT. PLEASANT - The Iowa Wesleyan volleyball team made quick work of Eureka College in their season opener on Saturday. The Tigers swept the Red Devils 25-23, 25-15 and 25-21 to start the season off with a victory.
The Tigers out-performed the Red Devils in virtually every category. Iowa Wesleyan finished with 36 kills ont eh night compared to Eureka's 13, and Eureka commited 27 errors to the Tigers' 15.
Lezar'Rhea Burnside and Malie Demate collected 11 kills apiece to lead the Tigers in the opener. DeMate added 20 digs and two aces, both of which led the team.
Anna Leidl dished out 12 assists to lead the Tigers. Leamaris Fuentes finished with 11 assists. Jenna Murphy had 17 digs and one ace. Jaden Streeter had 12 digs.
The Tigers are now 1-0 overall and in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They'll hit the road on Thursday to take on Greenville Unviersity.
