Iowa Wesleyan volleyball knocked out of SLIAC tournament

FULTON - The Iowa Wesleyan volleyball team was eliminated from the 2021 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball tournament on Saturday, falling in three sets at Westminster College.
The hosting Blue Jays swept the Tigers, winning sets 25-16, 25-23 and 25-20, to knock Iowa Wesleyan out of championship contention.
Malieokekai DeMate had 12 kills in the loss. Lezar'Rhea Burnside had seven kills, and Lindsay Fernandez filled the stat sheet with four kills, 11 assists and eight digs.
Jenna Murphy led the Tigers' back line with 15 digs. Leamaris Fuentes finished the night with eight digs and eight assists.
The Tigers had five service errors on the night and just two service aces. Burnside and Jaden Streeter had one ace apiece.
