Isabel Bailey was the only Demon to reach double figures in a nonconference girls basketball game at Louisa-Muscatine High School Thursday.
Washington 47, Louisa-Muscatine 39
Bailey notched 14 points for Washington, which led 9-3 after the first quarter, 24-11 at halftime and 31-21 after the third.
Bailey made two 3-pointers, grabbed five rebounds and five steals. Addison Six snagged 10 boards. Haylee Wilson scored nine points and Kinsey Duwa eight. Duwa went 6 of 8 at the foul line, swiped six steals and handed out a pair of assists.
The Demons are 5-4 and play at Mt. Pleasant Jan. 4. L-M is 3-6.
Wilton 73, Columbus 19
Olivia Carrier had six points and four rebounds in the nonconference home loss. Jobie Lekwa added five points with a 3-pointer. Lizbeth Paz also sank a 3.
'Our game against Wilton was rough and we knew it would be, but still put up a good effort,” Columbus coach Katie Coil said. 'IMS was probably our best defensive game even though we lost (Tuesday).”
Angie Byas had five points and seven rebounds Tuesday. Aubrey Duncan added four points.
Columbus (0-9) hosts Lone Tree (0-9) tonight.
Notre Dame 47, WACO 26
Clara Schmitz scored nine points in the home Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division loss. Maysan Lee and Nadiyah Brown added five points each.
