IW basketball busts Baptist Bible
Tigers roll in women’s and men’s doubleheader

MT. PLEASANT — The Iowa Wesleyan basketball teams closed out the home schedule on Tuesday night, and the Tigers did so in style.
Iowa Wesleyan treated its home fans to two blowout victories. The women’s team won 81-50, and the men’s team won 88-59.
The Tiger women turned a 14-14 tie after one quarter into a 40-22 halftime lead. The Tigers turned it on in the second half, winning the third quarter 19-11 and the fourth 22-17.
Kyla Moore dropped 25 points in the game, including three made 3-pointers. She also led the team with five assists and four steals.
Megan Teal scored 15 points off the bench to become the Tigers’ second-leading scorer. Breanna Wendland had 12 points. Isabell West scored 10. Faith Watkins scored nine. Maci Kuchta and Shyanne Mayhue scored two each, and Brielle Baker finished with two.
The 23rd-ranked Tiger men bursted out to a 44-26 halftime lead andnever looked back. Iowa Wesleyan scored 44 points in both halves of a 29-point thumping.
Henry Shannon scored 21 points for the Tiger men. Joey Brown IV filled the stat sheet with 20 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Gacoby Jones had 15 points, and Carver Locke finished with 10.
James Evans II scored eight points and led the Tigers with five assists. Victor Munoz scored seven points. Hakeem Odunsi scored five points, and Francis Okwuosah finished with two points and 12 rebounds.
The Tiger women are now 19-6 overall, with one more regular season game to go, at Trinity Christian College on Saturday. The men are all done with the postseason with a 24-2 record.
The Iowa Wesleyan men and women’s teams will be playing in the Continental Athletic Conference tournament next weekend in Lawrence, Kansas.
