IW men go 0-2 in Colorado Springs tournament

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Iowa Wesleyan men's basketball team went 0-2 in Colorado Springs, Colorado this weekend, falling 81-68 to hosting Colorado College and 95-73 to Johnson & Wales.
The Tigers held a slim 32-31 lead against Colorado College in their first game, on Friday, but were outscored by 14 in the second half and ended up falling by 13.
Despite the loss, Austin Rebel had a nice game, scoring 14 points and pulling down nine rebounds. Jarryd Fernandes was second on the team in scoring, with nine points, and also pulled down five rebounds.
Jake Neubauer and Avree Clark had eight points each in the loss. Austin Banks scored seven. Alberto Torres and Alex Dentlinger each scored six. Chris John finished with four. Kaleb Cresswell scored three. Camron Mack finished with two, and Brian Patterson scored one point.
IW trialed 47-39 at halftime of Saturday's loss to Johnson & Wales. The Tigers once again had a rough second half and walked away with a 22-point loss.
Rebel had another nice game down low, finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Fernandes found his way into the starting lineup and finished the game with 10 points and six rebounds.
Banks had nine points int he loss. Mack finished with seven, and both Patterson and Joshua Cole ended the contest with six. Clark and Neubauer scoerd four points apiece. Torres and John had three each, and both Cresswell and Dentlinger finished with two.
IW is now 0-3 overall and will be at Monmouth College for their next game on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 3 p.m.
