IW men take fifth at SLIAC tournament

PEORIA, Ill. - The Iowa Wesleyan Men's Golf Team competed on Monday, April 22 and Tuesday April 23 in the SLIAC Conference Tournament at the Weaver Ridge Golf Course. The Tigers finished Day 1 in fourth place and were unable to improve on their Day 1 results, finishing the tournament in fifth place.
On Day 1, the team was led by Blake Forsythe (who scored an 81 in the first round and 79 in the second round, which put him tied for 10th overall. Jeff Cox finished the second round with a 78, which was the best score of the day for the Tigers. As a team, IW finished with 670 points after the first day of golf.
In the third round of the tournament on Tuesday, the Tigers were led by Jaime Suarez who ended the round with a score of 81. Cameron Mack recorded an 84 in round three, which was second best for IW on the day.
The Tigers would finish with a combined team score of 1018, giving them a fifth place finish in the tournament.
IW will close out their spring season on April 27 and 28 in Monmouth, Ill., at the Monmouth College Scot Invite at the Gibson Woods Golf Course.
