MACOMB, Ill. - The Iowa Wesleyan men's basketball team got their feet wet on Thursday night with an exhibition game at Western Illinois University. The Tigers were upended 108-63 by the favored Leathernecks.
The Tigers were led by Jake Neubauer, who scored 17 points on 6-12 shooting from the field and a scalding hot 5-5 from three-point land. He also led the team with five total rebounds.
Avree Clark and Chris John had eight points apiece in the loss. Alberto Torres finished the night with seven points. Austin Rebel, Austin Banks and Jarryd Fernandes had six points each. Banks also had a team-leading two assists.
Brian Patterson had four points in the loss. Alex Dentligner ended the night with two.
The Tigers will have a scrimmage game at Central College in Pella on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Their first real game will be at home on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m., when they host Coe College.
