IW places 4 in top 5 at SLIAC track meet

GREENVILLE, Ill. — Four Iowa Wesleyan track and field athletes sneaked into the top five in individual events at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference track and field meet last weekend. As a team, the Tiger women placed sixth and the men took seventh.
The Tigers had two athletes finish second, both in distance events. Allison Morris took silver in the women’s 10,000-meter run, finishing in just over 46 minutes, at 46:02.64. Blake Lenzie finished second in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing in 16:12.51.
The Tigers had two second-place finishes in women’s hurdle events. Teya Hawkins finished the 100-meter hurdles in 21.99 seconds, and Chris Heimann finished the 400-meter hurdles in 1:17.06.
