IW volleyball drops nonconference home game

MT. PLEASANT - The Iowa Wesleyan volleyball team lost a nonconference game to Monmouth College on Saturday night. IW avoided a sweep with a third-set win, but fell in four, 25-22, 25-21, 17-25, 25-22.
Lida Landre and Paige Kammerer both went over 10 kills in the loss. Landre led the team with 16 kills and Kammerer had 13. Ariel Smale finished the night with nine.
Kammerer dished out a team-leading 20 assists in the loss. Smale was right behind her with 19. Martiza Romero finished the day with a team-leading four blocks.
Jenna Murphy led the defense with 25 digs. Smale finished with 18. Kammerer went over double digits in digs as well, with 13.
IW had seven service errors in the loss and six aces. Kammerer had three aces on the night. Landre had two, and Murphy finished with one.
The Tigers fell to 8-13 on the year. They'll look to improve on their 8-13 conference record tonight (Thursday) when they host Blackburn on senior night.
