FULTON, Mo. - After winning its season opener, the Iowa Wesleyan volleyball team has lost four straight. The Tigers pushed undefeated Westminster to four sets on Wednesday night, but the Tigers were unable to stop their skid.
Westminster rolled in the first set, winning 25-11, but IW punched right back in the second, taking a nail-biter, 25-23. The Blue Jays bounced back in the following sets, taking them 25-13 and 25-17.
Malieokekai DeMate led the Tigers with eight kills in the loss. Emily Gehring added seven, and Skylar Garcille finished with four.
Jenna Murphy led the Tiger defense with 15 kills. DeMate added seven. Lindsay Fernandez dished out 19 assists.
IW had five service errors on the night, and just two aces. Both aces came off the serve of Jaden Streeter.
The Tigers are now 1-4 this season. They will try to right the ship on Saturday with a road match at Webster University.
