IW women fall at Faith

The Iowa Wesleyan women's soccer team took on Faith Baptist Bible College this afternoon in Ankeny, Iowa. The Tigers were looking to bounce back from a loss on Wednesday, but IW suffered a 4-0 loss to the Eagles.
Faith Baptist pressured the Iowa Wesleyan defense early in the match. The Tigers were only able to get four shots off in the opening half, while the Eagles took 14 shots. Destiny Colon recorded nine saves in the first half. The Eagles took a 2-0 lead in the opening half, scoring goals at 24:02 and 25:25.
In the second half, the Tiger defense continued to face pressure. Faith Baptist took 12 shots, while IW finished the half with six shots. Colon had seven saves in the half, ending the game with 16 saves for the Tigers. The Eagles added two more goals to take a 4-0 lead, and despite the six shots, the Tigers could not find the back of the net.
Grace Alongi had a team high five shots in the match, three of which were on goal for the Tigers. Courtney Mitchell, Genesis Carrillo and Taniya Harris ended the match with one shot on goal a piece.
The Tigers are now 0-3 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday, September 19. They will travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to take on Mt. Mary College at 5 p.m.
