JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Iowa Wesleyan women's golf team took third in the SLIAC tournament on Monday. The Tigers shot a 902 to finish ahead of three other conference opponents.
Spalding won the tournament with a final score of 670, shooting 334 on Monday and 336 on Tuesday. Fontbonne shot a 366 and a 362 for a second-place total of 728, and IW shot a 449 and a 453 to finish the day at 902.
Eureka College shot a 489 and a 479 to finish at 968 for fourth place. MacMurray College only had three players so the Highlanders didn't have a team score. Westminster had to withdraw from the team competition after their top golfer was unable to compete in the second round.
The Tigers were led by Hannah Lien. She shot a 92 on day one and a 91 on day two to finish eighth individually at 183.
Darby Massner was 13th individually, shooting 106 and 108 for a final score of 214. Maggie Calease was one shot behind her, shooting 107 and 108 for a 14th-place 215, and Allie Massner shot a 144 and 146 to finish 23rd, with a 290.
The Tiger women will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 29, when they head to Forest City for a dual with Waldorf University.
