IW women struggle at Webster, Fontbonne

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - It's been a tough go so far for the Iowa Wesleyan women in conference play. The Tigers picked up two more losses last week, losing 13-0 at Webster on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and 10-0 at Fontbonne on Saturday, Oct. 12.
In Wednesday's loss, the Tigers were done in by nine first half Gorlok gols. The Gorloks added four in the second half to hand IW its second-straight loss to start the conference slate.
The Tigers had no shots on goal in the loss. Cheleena Squib saved 13 of the 26 shots that came at her.
IW had another rough first half at Fontbonne, giving up seven goals in the first half. The Griffins added three in the second half to make it an even 10.
The Tigers once again were unable to record a shot in Saturday's loss. Squib faced 28 shots on goal and saved 18 of them.
IW is now 0-7-1 overall and 0-3 in the conference, tied for ninth with Eureka College.
The Tigers played at Cornell College on Tuesday. That result will be in a future edition of The Union. In their next conference game, IW will face Spalding, a 1-2 team in conference play, on Thursday, Oct. 17,
