AMANA ? Led by Blake Mitchell, the Iowa Wesleyan men?s golf team placed ninth of 11 teams at the Iowa Intercollegiate in Amana.
Mitchell tied for eighth place in the two-day tournament, which ended yesterday. He came home with a total score of 155: a 79 on the first day and a 76 on the second.

Mitchell tied for eighth place in the two-day tournament, which ended yesterday. He came home with a total score of 155: a 79 on the first day and a 76 on the second.
Zach Hale was next for the Tigers, finishing the course tied for 37th with a score of 173 over the two days (80, 93). Then came Trent Hoekstra, tied for 39th with a 175 (86, 89), and Clint Phelps, tied for 44th with a 177 (92, 85).
The meet was won by the Mt. Mercy team, whose top golfer ? John Milne ? took home the medal with a two-day score of 149.
The meet marks the end of the fall portion of the golf season. The women finished their fall season on Oct. 2. Both teams will begin golfing again in the spring.
