Jenna Ludwig leads seventh grade girls? track and field team at conference meet
The seventh grade girls? track and field team participated in the Southeast Association of Middle Schools Conference Meet on May 7 in Burlington and placed third out of eight teams, led by Jenna Ludwig?s first-place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:38.02.
The Panthers also had a number of top-six finishes.
Ludwig took the silver medal in the 200 with a time of :29.65, as well as the 400 with a time of 1:07.5.

Ludwig took the silver medal in the 200 with a time of :29.65, as well as the 400 with a time of 1:07.5.
Two Panther relays also took the runner-up spot: the 4x400 team of Kirsten Smith, Genna Cristoforo, Catherine Prough and Allison Buckert finished its event in 4:48.4, and the distance medley team of Madison Woodard, Samantha Doak, Prough and Lindsey Moeller finished in 5:19.52.
In third place for the Panthers was Buckert in the 100 hurdles (:17.64); the sprint medley team of Doak, Woodard, Cristoforo and Prough (2:19.81); and Lauren Stewart in the discus (65-1).
Moeller placed fourth in the 800 (2:54.76), and Abbie Liechty did the same in the shot put (23-8).
The shuttle hurdle team of Smith, Rylee Amos, Sheyanne Walter and Buckert also took fourth (1:22.34).
In fifth for Mt. Pleasant was the 4x100 relay team of Doak, Jocelyn Steenblock, Baily Johnson and Woodard (1:02.93), as well as Smith in the long jump (12-9 3/4) and Johnson in the shot put (23-6).
The Panthers also took sixth place in five events: Liechty in the discus (56-9 1/2); Smith in the 200 hurdles (:35.28); the 4x200 relay team of Johnson, Amos, Steenblock and Walter (2:12.08), the 4x800 team of Cristoforo, Johnson, Steenblock and Ashley Schinstock (12:19.44); and Walter in the high jump (4-0).
