Jones breaks Fairfield assist record
FORT MADISON — Last week during the first round of the Southeast Conference tournament, Fairfield senior Maddie Jones climbed the school’s record books, collecting her 1,570th career assist, putting her at No. 1 all time in Trojan volleyball history.
Jones has put together another stellar season at the setter position. She has 523 assists already this year with a handful of games to go. That’s seven more than her entire total from last season.
Fairfield is currently 16-11 on the year, and the Trojans take a 3-0 record into Day 2 of the SEC tourney. Fairfield plays both Fort Madison and Washington on Tuesday night at Washington High School.
