Iowa Wesleyan College alumna and current women's assistant basketball coach Anna Jones will be honored with the unveiling of a ?fathead? of herself in the Howe Student Union Building at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Jones was a two-time All-American at IWC during a four-year career that made her one of the greatest players in the school's long and distinguished history of women's basketball.
She was just the second player in school history to receive NAIA Division II First Team All-American honors and was a three-time first team All-Midwest Collegiate Conference selection. She finished her career as the school's all-time leader in assists and steals and also ranks fourth in school history in scoring and fifth in rebounding.
She also was a member of three Tiger teams to advance to the NAIA Division II National Tournament, and as a sophomore was a starter on IWC's record setting team that finished 27-8 and advanced to the Elite 8 at nationals.
Saturday will also be Senior Day for the IWC men?s and women?s basketball teams. The women take on Clarke University with tip-off set for 1 p.m. in Ruble Arena, and the men will play at 3 p.m., also against Clarke University. Fans are encouraged to wear white to the games.
