JV softball grabs three more wins
MOUNT PLEASANT ? The Fairfield JV softball team took a pair of wins against Southeast Conference rival Mount Pleasant on Monday.

MOUNT PLEASANT ? The Fairfield JV softball team took a pair of wins against Southeast Conference rival Mount Pleasant on Monday.
The Trojans rallied to score seven runs in the final two innings of the opener for an 8-5 win, and they held on for a 3-1 victory in game two.
?These girls are really starting to play together well as a team,? said Fairfield coach Lisa Greenig. ?They are minimizing their errors and holding the opposing teams to singles.?
Kelsey Roberts led from the plate in game one with two singles and a pair of RBI. Taylor Ferrel hit a single and double, and Paris Bickham tallied an RBI double.
In Fairfield?s game-two victory, Sierra Simmons smacked two singles and Sara Adam finished with a single and two RBI. Delaney Neil pitched the six-inning complete game, allowing one run with three strikeouts.
Fairfield also picked up a win at the Clear Creek-Amana Tournament Tuesday, defeating North Scott 7-3 in the opener. Fairfield lost the second game of the tournament, a 13-0 defeat at the hands of Center Point-Urbana.
Madison Mineart led the Trojans past North Scott with a two-RBI performance. Harley Cook tallied two singles and Ferrel had an RBI single.
The Trojans host Eddyville-Blakesburg today.
