The JV boys? basketball team didn?t fare as well as the varsity over the weekend, as they dropped their second game of the year to Ft. Madison on Friday night, Dec. 16, by a score of 48-40.

In the freshman game earlier that night, the Panthers claimed a win, 38-33, with a strong final quarter.
After finishing the first quarter tied at nine, the Panthers slipped and allowed the Bloodhounds to gain a 22-16 lead by the half. Ft. Madison held on to that lead through the third quarter, going into the final quarter of play with a 28-25 lead. But the Panthers outscored the Bloodhounds 13-5 in the final minutes of the game to reclaim the lead and take the victory.
Kolby Raymond scored 10 points in the game, the only Panther in double figures. Brady Anderson added seven points, while Marcus Moothart and Ben Canby put up six points apiece. Spencer White scored four in the game and Nathan McConnell scored three. Tyler Ruby added two points.
The freshman team is now 2-3 on the season.
The freshman team will not play again until Jan. 6, when Mt. Pleasant hosts Washington. The freshmen start the night with their game at 4:45 p.m.
The JV team plays Thursday at Marion, starting at 6 p.m.
