Kadel, Dye win weight at Regina Invite

Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union placed eighth, WACO was 10th and Sigourney-Keota 12th Saturday of the 17 teams at the Regina Invitational wrestling tournament in Iowa City.
Jarod Kadel was a champion for the Wildcats, winning the 138-pound category. Kadel got two first-round pins to get to the semifinals where he scored a 12-3 major decsision. In the title match, he defeated Zach Hammes of Pekin with another major, winning 11-3. Kadel has a 13-0 record this season.
Tucker Bright placed third at 132. He went 2-1 to up his record to 10-3. Columbus teammate Chance Malone placed fourth at 220. He has a record of 8-5. Jose Cerezo (10-4) was fifth at 152. Chance Colby (8-4) was fifth at 182.
Sigourney-Keota's Mason Dye was No. 1 at 113. He has a 14-2 record. Teammate Mac Conrad (16-5) was third at 182.
Larz Smith was WACO's highest finisher, placing fourth at 106. He has a record of 10-6. Kade McKinney was fifth at 285. He won three of his four matches, two by fall. He has a 14-3 record.
North Linn Invitational
Highland placed seventh and Mid-Prairie was 10th.
Highland had champions in Dan Burton (11-5) at 170 and Brady Hahn (15-1) at 145.
Burton won both of his matches by fall. Cory Stewart (13-5) was third at 152. Jordan Sosa (8-9) was fifth at 160. Yahir Jimenez (9-6) was fifth at 106. Geoff Streb (6-8) was fifth at 132.
Isaac Boucher was the top Golden Hawk on the day with a second place at 220. He has a 16-3 record. Cael Garvey upped his record to 13-7 with a third-place finish. Colton Allen (8-4) placed fourth at 182. Cory Allen (10-10) took fourth at 170. Gannon Callahan (13-6) was fifth at 285. Josh Wallington (11-8) was fifth at 195.
