FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield bowling teams made a good effort in trying to take down perennial power Keokuk on Monday, but it wasn’t to be for the hosting Trojans.
Fairfield welcomed Keokuk in to Flamingo Lanes for a Southeast Conference battle. The Keokuk boys knocked off the Trojans 2,640-2,560, and the Fairfield girls fell 2,182-1,989.
Fairfield’s top bowler on the boys’ side was Dayson Workman, who finished out at 355 on the day. Blake Ballew bowled a 336. Henry Swan ended at 319. Eli Aplara bowled a 300. Aaron Carlson finished at 273, and Corbin Starr bowled a 262.
Emma Cass had the best score on the Fairfield girls’ end. She bowled a 305, while Emma Forrest finished right behind her, at 300.
Autumn McBride bowled a 269. Braezen Stutzman finished at 260. Savannah Garretson bowled a 235, and Brooklyn Gridley finished out at 188.
The Trojan boys are now 2-3 on the year. The girls are 1-4.
