Keokuk stifles Demon girls
The first half was slow going for the Washington girls? basketball team on Friday night, and it was tough to recover.
The Demons were held scoreless in the second quarter against Keokuk in a conference matchup with the Chiefs, and held to only six first-half points in the contest.
The Demons recovered in the second half, but the deficit proved too much to overcome, as they fell 48-31.
The loss drops them to 2-4 ...

The first half was slow going for the Washington girls? basketball team on Friday night, and it was tough to recover.
The Demons were held scoreless in the second quarter against Keokuk in a conference matchup with the Chiefs, and held to only six first-half points in the contest.
The Demons recovered in the second half, but the deficit proved too much to overcome, as they fell 48-31.
The loss drops them to 2-4 on the season (0-2 in conference play).
After a tough first half that saw them go into the break down 23-6, the Demons continued their season trend of coming out of the halftime break quickly.
Washington scored seven of the first 10 points of the third quarter, but was held in check for the rest of the frame.
In the fourth quarter, seven Sarah Nacos points highlighted an 18-point period, but it wasn?t enough to bring the Demons back into the game.
Washington was led by Addie Pacha?s nine points in the contest, followed by Nacos? eight. Senior Brynna DeLong led the team with seven rebounds in the contest, while five girls each had an assist.
The Demons were plagued by turnovers, especially in the first half, finishing the game with 29 on the night.
The Demons will wrap up the first half of the schedule with a road contest at Marion on Tuesday night.
