BELLE PLAINE - The Plainesmen were not good hosts Thursday in the Belle Plaine Boys Invitational, inviting eight other schools, including Keota, to a track and field meet and outscoring all of them for the team win.
English Valleys gave the Plainesmen a scare, finishing three points behind in second with 125. Keota had 30.
Sam Sieren was third in the 200-meters race with a time of 24.51, earning six Keota points. Brady Duwa's long jump was second at 18 feet, 6 inches. Brandon Greiner tossed the shot put 33-8 to place fourth.
Keota's 4x200 relay placed second in 1 minute, 42.16 seconds with Sieren, Dakota Hammen, Duwa and Wyatt Sieren. The same four runners ran the sprint medley and placed fourth in 1:44.72.
