Keota baseball team wins over English Valleys

NORTH ENGLISH ? The Keota Eagles took part in a South Iowa Cedar Conference game against the English Valleys Bears Wednesday, June 28, resulting in a 9-4 win for Keota.
Both teams scored a run in the first inning and the game stayed tight after two innings when they both put up another run making the score 2-2.
English Valleys scored two runs in the third inning to take a 4-2 lead. Keota would tie the game in the fourth inning.
The fifth inning was a big one for Keota as they scored five runs to take over the lead, 9-4, where it would remain for the rest of the game.
Leading the team in scoring was Hunter Wilson, who scored three runs and would have one stolen base. Justin Moeller scored two runs and had two stolen bases. Anthony Campbell scored twice in the game. Crossing the plate once were Jack Eakins and JD Stout.
Campbell took to the mound for two innings, giving up four runs on two hits while walking five and striking out one. Stout pitched for three innings. He allowed two hits while walking three and striking out two.
The Eagles have a 10-8 record as they won at Moulton-Udell Friday, June 30.
